5 HABITS TO CULTIVATE AS A WRITER

If you want to excel as a writer, then you should read these few habits that you should cultivate to help you become not just an ordinary one, but a maestro.
Let's go:
1 Write Daily: Writing daily is one of the most effective ways you could ever use to become a great writer.
You want to become better as a writer? Write daily. It is as simple as that. No magic about it.
Writing daily helps you build your writing muscles. It helps you build your writing speed. It helps you strengthen your creative juice. It helps you become skillful with writing.
There are so many benefits attached to this single habit.
Try writing daily for one week and see the difference.
2 Read Books often: Reading other people's works, books, helps you to grow faster as a writer. It ensures a continuous growth with the art of writing
What are you learning in the process? You are learning styles, patterns, and voices you could infuse into your writing as well.
Unconsciously you find yourself infusing these styles and patterns to your own writings, uniquely.
Cultivate the habit of reading.
3 Be Observant Always: As with writing content, a lot of people complain of lacking ideas on what to write about.
The truth of the matter is that ideas are around you. You haven't been observant enough to see or notice them.
Anything happening around you can be an idea you can mould into great content.
I can look at a crawling child, and have what to write about. I can look at the sun and have what to write about. It's that easy for me because I am observant.
Try and become more observant as a writer. Look at things differently, you will have ideas roaring back and forth easily.
Most importantly, write them down. Have a jotter with you always. This is how you have what is called: A content bank.
4 Go For Trainings Often: Go for trainings to make you become better as a writer. Most free writing training is for one day.
Cultivate the habit of going for paid trainings too. Paid trainings on writing are usually about a week or more. You are not just learning writing, you are learning other things that goes with it.
Knowing to write is one thing, mastering, branding, and monetization with it is another thing entirely.
5 Go Out Of Your Comfort Zone: As humans, we are wired by default not to go the extra mile. In fact, we can be very comfortable being in one place for a long time.
It is the same with writing and being a writer.
You may be starting out, and everybody seems to notice you. Likes and comments are pouring in, and you think you've arrived.
Or probably you just organized your first writing class, free or paid, and you feel you've arrived.
When you get to a certain level, develop the habit of moving away from it as quickly as possible.
Fight the spirit of being a local champion as a writer or whatever you do.
This habit is very important to cultivate not only as a writer but as an individuals as well.
What else?
Put to use what you've just read.
Did you get value?
What have you learnt differently?
