The jounery of forever singleness

Ask the average 20-something-year-old school leaver and s/he thinks they still have a few years more to frolic around or save money for the dream wedding.
For those who may not know, however, scientists have discovered the best age for anyone to get married!
In fact, they warn that if, by that magic age you still happen to be single, you may have kissed marriage ‘bye’ forever!

And, forget the idea that we’re talking to the female species here! Rather, this applies to both male and female alike.
As far as researchers are concerned, the ideal age for anyone to tie the knot is 26! QED.
Applying what they call the ‘37% Rule’, cognitive scientists argue that by age 26, any individual would have assessed enough of human nature to pick his/her life partner.
The 37% Rule is basically the theory that you need to screen a range of options in a limited time frame. Such options could range from securing a new job to getting a romantic partner.
And the best time to make that decision is when you’ve looked at 37% of the options available, the scientists say.
It is based on the fact that most people start looking for love between the ages of 18 and 40, which means that the optimal age for seriously thinking about getting married is just past your 26th birthday — that is the 37% into the 22-year window.
“Before then, you’re missing out on potentially higher-calibre partners and after that, your good options start to diminish, basically meaning that unless you settle, you may be alone forever,” the scientists conclude.
