Oyo NLA executives visit The Oke-Ogun Poly, Saki, seeks management's support

The executives of Nigeria Library Association (NLA), Oyo State chapter, have lauded the achievements of the management of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS), during a familiarisation visit to the institution.

Dr. Olaojo, Olatunji NLA Chairman, who led the visitation team to TOPS on Tuesday, said part of the reason for the familiarisation tour was to solicit the support of its Chief Executive and the Polytechnic Librarian.

Rector of the institution, Mr. Oladeji, Mathew O., who, in company of Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Osunrinade, Olukunle. A. and other Library staff, received the NLA team; said the institution boasts of a newly constructed automated library, among other projects embarked upon by the management.

Disclosing this in a release, TOPS P.A. Media, Mr Adebayo, Samson A. said the Rector also informed NLA Executives that the management releases funds to the library for the procurement of text books and other library materials annually, hence, he enjoined TOPS students to make good use of the library, saying "reading makes a man and readers are leaders."

The Polytechnic librarian, Mr. Osunrinade, O. A., in his own address expressed his gratitude to NLA chairman and other executives for their visit and appreciated TOPS management for its contribution towards the newly constructed multi-million naira automated library.

Responding, NLA chairman, Dr. Olaojo, Olatunji commended the Rector, Mr. Oladeji, M. O., most especially, "for being a man of integrity, for his love, vision and strive for excellence which has holistically moved the institution to a greater height," adding that what he saw "is a great leap from what we have before and what we have now."

He also advised the students, to, under the Rector's good leadership, do their best to make sure that they are good followers and make judicious use of the resources at their disposal.

"Students should visit the library regularly instead of relying on Internet materials which are not always reliable, well edited and at times do not contain genuine

information," Dr. Olaojo, Olatunji said.
