MFM will bounce back against Warriors’

MFM FC midfielder, Chukwuma Onuwa, has expressed confidence that the club will bounce back to winning ways against Abia Warriors when the two sides clash on Sunday in one of the Week 33 matches of the Nigeria Professional football League at the Agege Stadium.

The Lagos side have yet to win a game in their last four league matches, which has seen them tethering in the relegation zone. The league newcomers started the league brightly but fell into a decline in the second half of the league.

But the creative midfielder believes his team will emerge victorious against the Aba-based outfit and put an end to the winless form as they continue their quest for survival in the top league.

“We have been preparing for this weekend game against Abia Warriors FC and we want to use the match bounce back to winning ways and give our fans reasons to keep supporting us,” Onuwa told the club’s website.

“The three points at stake in the encounter is key to our survival in the NPFL and we need to play out our hearts because anything short of victory may confirm our team for relegation. So I’m optimistic of absolute victory.”

MFM FC currently occupy the 18th position on the Nigeria top-flight table with 37 points from 29 league matches.
