The Senate President of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki, has said that most laws in Nigeria are ‘outdated’.
The 53-year-old mentioned this on Tuesday at the ongoing National Economic Summit in Abuja.
Saraki, while he was fielding questions on the actions the senate is taking about a comprehensive report
on bills critical to SME development in Nigeria, said: ”We have identified 11 bills that can enable businesses in Nigeria, one of such is Petroleum Information Bill (PIB).
”Our fear was that there was no reference to those in the community. That was why it was stepped down, but we are looking at passing that soonest,” he added.
The 22nd edition of the National Economic Summit kicked off on Monday with President Muhammadu Buhari in attendance.
Economic issues like promoting locally-made products have been discussed.
